This is the second of my series of insect placemats. Done in cotton yarn so that you can put hot pots and plates on it and inspired by my own bees and the bugs on my farm, this is a passion project.

Inspired by my sister's chicken-raising stories, I created a unique crochet pattern combining a chicken with a floral motif as a tribute to her.

Who doesn’t love an owl? I wanted a pattern for an owl but with a bit of a different twist which is why I designed this pattern to be made up of lots of little sections. I think this works really well with the mosaic style of crocheting.

This blanket holds a very special place in my heart. The beautiful whippet featured in the design is Freya—my beloved first whippet, who I heartbreakingly lost far too soon at just nine years old. Creating this piece has given me a way to keep her close, and now I can still cosy up with her on the couch.
