The eighth instalment in my fantasy series of overlay mosaic crochet patterns is here! "Flameborn Phoenix" includes written and chart instructions for both left and right handed crocheters as well as tutorials for both the overlay mosaic technique and an envelope border, guiding crafters through each step of the process.
The pattern is written in US English terms and assumes knowledge of the basic crochet stitches (slip stitch, chain, single crochet, double crochet).
Crochet Terms: US
Yarn: Any (the pictured example is made with Stylecraft Special DK Cream and Jaffa on a 4 mm hook and the final piece is 117 cm x 177 cm / 46 in x 70 in)
Quantity of Yarn: 6 skeins of each colour (1764 m / 1929 yards) | 2 skeins of the border colour.
Hook Size: appropriate for the yarn chosen
Size: 199 stitches across (plus 2 for the joining and ending stitches) and 299 rows tall.
Skill: Intermediate
Additional Materials: A hook 1 size down from your main hook to create the border.
I create all my designs myself before they are tested by a variety of people from different countries and different skill levels.
