This is the pdf version of my Bee Placemat pattern which is available for free here.
The pattern is written in US English terms and assumes knowledge of the basic crochet stitches (slip stitch, chain, single crochet, double crochet). The pattern includes beginner friendly instructions on how to do the overlay mosaic technique as well as the envelope border. The pattern itself is provided in both written and chart format for both right and left handed crocheters. There are also additional tutorials available on my website on the mosaic crochet technique, envelope border and how to transform your piece into a reversible piece as I did with this placemat.
This is the first of my planned series of insect placemats. Done in cotton yarn so that you can put hot pots and plates on it and inspired by my own bees, this is a passion project.
Bugs get a bad rap, I think it’s time we celebrate them!
I design and crochet all my designs myself before they are tested by a variety of people from different countries and different skill levels.
